We take the menu as seriously as medicine. The cook works with a dietician and the families: diagnoses, religious traditions, personal habits. Most dishes are Azerbaijani home classics.
Plov, dovga, kufta, dushbara, piti, lavangi, qutab, shah-plov — a weekly rotation, like a good mother.
Low-salt, diabetic, soft, pureed — as the doctor prescribes. No one eats the "common" menu by force.
On request, residents join in: roll dough, shape dolma, knead bread. Activity and a sense of purpose.
Lunch is always together, at a shared table. Breakfast and dinner — as preferred: in the room or with neighbours.
Greens — from our mini-garden. Bread we bake ourselves. Fruit — from Azerbaijani markets, not supermarkets.
Armudu glasses, mint, thyme, dried lemon. Tea at 11 and 17 — time for conversation, as in the parental home.
